| Sooo, let's just say it's been FOREVER since I last wrote. I used to be so damn prolific on this thing... then life took over haha.
New York. 4 years since I moved here and man has there been a lot of change! I guess I'll never end up documenting a lot of things just because there's so much to tell, but then memories fade too. I reread all my old entries and realized just how much I had forgotten.
It's time I started writing again. Songs, stories, all the things I used to do in my spare time before I became so damn busy with everything....helps with dealing with stress and all that jazz. Although I am so grateful for having a place to go to and hide in a corner and listen to some amazing music and lose myself in that world again.
Too much on my mind. | | |
| It's been more than half a year since I've touched this blog. Something a friend said made me go back and look through it again. It is now 2010, February is almost gone and I'm a lot older than when I first started this blog. It's been in existence since 2002 I believe? 8 long years.
Life has been good. I've learned a lot, laughed a lot, had my fair share of pain and disappointments and gained and lost a few friendships along the way. I've made my debut Off Broadway and my band's lead singer was nominated for a Grammy and a Drama Desk award and ended up winning a Tony in the bargain. I've joined a few new bands and am looking forward to stretching myself playing wise. Life is such a roller-coaster ride that you really learn to treasure the moments when there's a lull, the calm before the next hurricane hits you and dumps the next tidal wave just as you're getting used to the mundane, peaceful existence...
It's gorgeous outside. I really shouldn't be holed up but I do have some work I need to do, some songs I need to chart out and a track I need to finish writing. Work never stops but with age comes the wisdom to know what to take on and what to let go.
The sun is shining and I'm off to the land of dreams.
Here's to 2010.

| So I've been holed up in the Upper West Side for the past 2 days doing a location recording for 2 albums, a jazz trio and solo piano. The one thing that sucks is that I have NO cell reception at all. It is THE SUCK, or LE SUCK. Anyhoo....
It's been an amazing time watching the group go at it. We've gotten some amazing tracks and I've jsut finished a rough mixdown of a few tunes, can't wait for the 2 albums to drop! I'm debating if I wanna write a session report type entry sometime later...just to document a bit of what goes on in a typical session, we will see if I have energy left after the next few days and if I can remember lol.
I don't think I can remember any year in which I've been so freakin' busy... I'm not complaining, I get to hone my chops, but dang.
Make that 7 albums/EPs this year that I'm done with/working on with another potential mix job.
Now I need to plan a vacation....
